Christian Anderson, MD

  • As an orthopaedic surgeon, I have always had an interest in advancing sports medicine through research and innovation. The roots of this passion go all the way back to high school when I created a novel fishhook design. From that point, it’s been my lifelong goal to create meaningful products that improve lives. I feel fortunate to be able to pursue my dream by creating some inspiring and innovative devices that focus on saving the knee.

  • I have a deep passion for innovation. While I was with Johnson and Johnson, I formed and directed multiple teams responsible for hundreds of successful medical device and medtech launches, resulting in billions in revenue. Most recently I was Senior Director of Innovation at JNJ MedTech in which I led technology scouting, BD, acquisitions, integrations and internal innovation efforts. Innovation never sleeps, and patients are waiting for our innovations, so speed to market is what fuels me and my teams.

Samuel Grossman

  • I started my career in the Surgeon Request Team, creating customized instruments to fit a surgeon’s specific need.  I worked for 14 years in R&D across Spine, Ortho, and Sports Medicine at J&J, learning the discipline and focus necessary to launch medical devices worldwide.  I pride myself on understanding complex problems, and leading teams towards elegant execution. I thrive in the outdoors, and do my best thinking while walking with my kiddos each morning.

Brian Morley

  • At 19, I developed and launched my first product and haven't looked back. With vast industry leading experience (J&J, Synthes), strategic and tactical expertise, and years in the entrepreneurial space (2023 Providence Business News C-Suite award nominee), I thrive when contributing to a small, high-performing team. I’m known to challenge our thinking to reveal overlooked opportunities, which can be the difference between success and failure. Mushroom forager, maker & full-time husband/dad.

FOUNDING STORY

Connecting the Dots Between Fly Fishing and Surgery.

1997
Discovering my love for invention

As a kid, I loved fishing. At 18, I realized fishing hooks hadn't changed for centuries and I began redesigning them.

2008
Becoming an orthopedic surgeon

During my fellowship at Stanford, I was mentored by innovative minds who reignited my passion for invention, reminding me of my first exposure to innovation with that fishhook design. Still in training, I lacked the expertise to fully grasp surgical challenges, but I stayed observant, refined my skills, and waited for the right opportunity.

2016
Finding inspiration from fly fishing

That love for fishing stayed with me, taking me to incredible places worldwide as I perfected my craft.

2020
The creative process

I used that skill set of splicing lines for fly fishing to begin prototyping. Over 8 years I created hundreds prototypes during the ideation process. Failure is a natural part of creating something.

2025

Native Orthopaedics advancing knotless technology to fix the root, correct extrusion, prevent arthritis, and preserve the knee.
